I hired Southland Vinyl to replace a rotted, termite eaten wood fence with vinyl. The project was moderately complex, involving 180 feet of fencing, two gates, and a steep hill on one side of the property. They were the lowest bidder of three bids. The crew was very knowledgeable about fence building, and I appreciated the many features included in the project: aluminum beams in the upper rails to prevent sagging, drain holes drilled into the bottom rails, concrete with rebar in the posts, reinforcement on both sides of the gates, color matching glue and screw plugs. Given the complexity of the project, they had a few mistakes, but unlike many contractors, they quickly recognized it and corrected it. There was one post in the front where the concrete cured with the post about a half inch out of kilter. It was near another post, so it was obvious that it was a little off. Many contractors would say that is “good enough” or explain that you can’t be that accurate when you cure posts in concrete. But this contractor first attempted to straighten the post, and when that failed, they demolished the post and replaced it. No argument, no attempt to convince me that it was good enough. That is the definition of quality workmanship. I have hired many contractors in the past for various projects, and Southland Vinyl is one of the best. Definitely recommend!
